"American Idol" Mail Fraud Alert
FOX and the producers of "American Idol" are warning fans about a mail fraud scam. The scam uses sweepstakes award letters printed on what appears to be "American Idol" letterhead. The letter is sent to the attention of the "American Idol Sweepstakes Winner" and notifies recipients that they have been selected as a winner in the "American Idol Online Sweepstakes." The letter contains fake checks, a phone number to call, and instructions on how to claim the fake "prize" checks.

Locally, Congrats to Burt Myers for being the guy to final beat out Tim Brown's record 8 straight Bud Pole Awards at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston Saturday! Burt also went on to win the first Modified race , but Tim Brown was not to be outdone and he came back to win the second Modified race of the evening!  Derek Stoltz and Gene Pack won 20-lap races in the Sportsman Division. Ryan Nelson won a 20-lap Street Stock race, and Dale Barneycastle won the 15-lap Stadium Stock main event.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – A year from now, front yards will not be an acceptable place to park your car.

The city council voted 8-1 Tuesday night to ban parking in front of residential property. 

"People don't want their property values to go down," said council member Trudy Wade.

"First it was the couches on the front porch, now its cars in the yards," said council member Dianne Bellamy-Small, the only dissenting vote.  She believes property owners should be able to do what they please, which sparked this exchange between Bellamy-Small and fellow council member Goldie Wells:

Wells:  "If I'm spending money every week getting my yard clean and ...something next to you has five cars sitting up there..."

Bellamy-Small:  "That's your choice, if I don't want to have grass in my yard, that's my choice, bare yard, that's my choice."

Wells:  "It's your choice but it's not respectful of others."

Citizens will have 12 months to comply with the new ordinance.  Zoning officers will enforce the parking rules, but only after a complaint is made about parking on a specific front yard.
